About Community Services, Inc - Cromwell, Connecticut (CT)Community Services, Inc., an affiliate of the Children’s Home of Cromwell (CHOC), is expanding its Program of Services to Persons with Developmental Disabilities (SPDD) to provide community living arrangements and behavioral supports for children, adolescents and young adults with intellectual and related disabilities who may have co-occurring challenging behaviors or a mental health disorder. We aim to provide the most current evidenced based clinical care. Critical to this is the use of a comprehensive and multi-modal approach that emphasizes preventive interventions and building skills that help individuals to achieve optimal functioning, and promote wellness and quality of life. Our long experience in providing special educational and residential programs, in operating group homes for adolescents and young adults, and in providing outpatient treatment assures clients of our commitment to culturally competent, holistic and individualized program planning. We are committed to preserving the dignity of each person we serve as demonstrated in our respect for individual rights and preferences; in maintaining and furthering their community relationships; and in assuring for the provision/development of safe and healthy environments. Community Services, Inc. (CSI) is an affiliate of The Children’s Home of Cromwell with a mission to provide community based mental health and services for youth and their families. Our focus is to assist children and teens and their families in working through transitions that are simply a part of growing up. We operate a number of separate programs across central Connecticut including group homes, in-school support initiatives, a confidence building ropes adventure course, money management and daily living skills trainings, and individual and group counseling services. These programs are described in detail on this site We also operate a Training Academy to assist organizations in developing curriculum and delivering inservice education and professional development programs with a focus on trauma informed care for youth.
