Community Based Life Skills - Behavioral Health Connecticut (CT)

Our Community Based Life Skills Programs (CBLS) reside in Middletown and Meriden, serving identified DCF foster children who are preparing to transition from foster care to independent living.
Teens encounter many challenges throughout their transition from the teen years to adulthood. Great opportunities are on the horizon for these young adults, and our programs provide youth with the skills necessary to navigate this transition successfully.  It is our goal to prepare them in mastering the responsibilities inherent with independence and self-sufficiency.

Our programs develop and enhance knowledge of the essential life skills to promote independent living and self-reliance in a community setting.  We provide opportunity for learning, problem solving, and enhancement of self-esteem, as well as increasing the young person’s awareness of community systems and services.
