Having neither mother nor father, Esther was a young woman of great beauty adopted by her Uncle Mordecai who eventually became Queen of the land. Although her looks were often the first thing people noticed about her, it was her quick thinking and inner strength that made her truly stand out. Instead of remaining silent and focusing on her humble beginnings, Esther learned the importance of finding her own voice and speaking up for herself and for her people. Her decision to speak up saved the Jews from extinction.
