Team School Program
(Therapeutic Educational Alternative Model)

The TEAM Program is a school-based clinical intervention service, designed to support Boards of Education in identifying, assessing and providing child-specific, wraparound clinical servicing for children at risk of educational outplacement.

TEAM designs individual programming for each identified child with the goal of preventing expensive outplacement to more costly clinical day schools.  The program can be modified to serve any number of students and to meet all needs of the Board of Education.

The TEAM Program assertively addresses students’ emotional and social/behavioral needs and teaches students positive and effective behavioral skills.  TEAM works to establish and foster a strong connection between the schools, family supports, outside providers and behavioral health systems.  TEAM also serves as the schools “in-house” resource, providing consultation, training and case management assistance to the child, involved caregivers, school faculty, student service personnel, administrators and BOE officials.

TEAM is available at the schools discretion for an assigned caseload of children from the system’s elementary and middle schools.  This provides a means for early identification, assertive intervention and individualized programming with the goal of supporting a child in adapting and overcoming the behavioral challenges they experience.  Research reflects that early intervention is key to achieving higher, successful outcomes later in life.  TEAM is “portable”, in that its services may be delegated in whole or in part to each identified child, family and school as designated by the school.
